UPDATED 2 Glass Clips for Printrbots - measured to include 2mm neoprene insulation PLEASE COMMENT
thingiverse
Update 2: Enhanced holes by 40% for screws and countersinks in this design, as opposed to the previous version that lacked adequate depth for the gas plate. You can now access the Sketchup file for adjusting the overhang depth according to your printer's specifications without a glass plate. Your feedback is highly appreciated! These 4 clips are designed specifically for the corners of the standard Printrbot LC 2 bed. However, you might need to modify the STL file if you aren't using a 2mm neoprene-insulated heated bed with a 3mm glass plate. For optimal performance, consider reducing your X and Y bed sizes by 10mm in your printing software to avoid head crashes. Both V1 and V2 clip versions are available for download as STL and Sketchup files. The clips were printed 'upright' due to delamination issues when flat. Adjust according to your printer's needs. V2 clips have better shapes and tapered top edges, reducing the chances of head clashes. Regarding the bed installation, it was done using plastic pipe adhesive for easier maintenance with the Printrbot LC V2 and a glass bed. To secure the parts, print them with a 0.3mm layer height and standard infill settings. Set the nozzle temperature to 230°C and the bed temperature to 90°C using 3mm ABS from Printrbot. Enhance grip between the clip and glass surface by applying rubber adhesive from a puncture repair kit to the underside of the clips where they contact the glass. For optimal adhesion, apply three thin coats of pipe adhesive at right angles to each other while the bed is heated.
