The model "DR30.22[B]" 30MM Armour Piercing Discarding Sabot is a further refinement of my previously uploaded APDS projectile.It has a fully loaded cartridge length of 251.55mm, which is shorter than the maximum allowable length of 290mm as specified under STANAG 4624, this type of projectile cannot be elongated due to flight stability.It uses a tungsten heavy metal alloy penetrator with a mass density of ~17,300Kg/m^3.Besides a few small feature modifications and dimensional refinements, the omission of the previously used tilting AP cap was done in favor of a single functioning tilting cap. The reasoning for this change was that although the previous AP cap provided better initial penetration against external composite arrays, it was incapable of achieving satisfactory results through a wider range of oblique angles. The use of the exclusive tilting cap provides better flexibility of target choice.NOTE: Still missing the tracer unit and locking pin.
