UP temp mod lid
thingiverse
This lid is designed for housing the switch and harness of my low extruder temperature modification for the UP printer. I utilized a 13 ohm resistor with the temperature probe, tricking the printer into believing that the temperature is higher than it actually is. The 13 ohm resistor generally reduces the extruder temperature to approximately 240 C, a suitable range for most color filaments. Although the software still displays 270 C. This modification includes an added switch for easy transitions between original and aftermarket filament. The connectors are JST-XT. As an update, I now recommend using a 10 ohm 1 watt resistor instead of the previous 13 ohm suggestion, as it may lower the temperature too much when printing with Taulmans nylon. The 10 ohm will give a temperature range of around 250-255 C. Additionally, I now provide the patch lead for those who prefer not to or are unable to create their own.
