The Extruder mount upgrade is designed to accept a Nema 17 stepper in place of the original Nema 14 stepper. Read on for the detailed instructions. Instructions: This is almost a direct bolt-in procedure, but with one crucial difference - the new setup requires a modified magnet mount. To get it right, simply move the back magnet on the mag mount back by 5mm to perfectly position the new Nema 17 motor in place. So far, so good! The upgrade runs significantly cooler than the original Nema 14 motor, making for a noticeable improvement. Plus, the gear from the old motor fits seamlessly into its original spot, even though the new shaft is longer and keyed. All you need to do is push it back into position and trim off the excess shaft with a good hacksaw. Finally, transfer the electrical plug from the old motor to the new one, and you're done!
