In order to prevent early softening of PLA filament, I incorporated a cooling air jet directly into the extruder gear assembly. This is particularly important as PLA is highly susceptible to heat transfer from the motor and hot block. This modification will also benefit the new main board upgrade, where stepper motors operate at higher temperatures. To implement this change, print a replacement mount and use it in conjunction with a Vlier spring plunger (6mm plastic nose), along with an SMC, KGS04-M5, SUS male connector, accommodating a 4mm tube and M5 screw.
