This is an UNSC device that appears prominently in the mid-mission cutscene of 343 Guilty Spark within Halo: Combat Evolved. Designed to hack through security systems, it grants immediate access to Forerunner structures featured throughout the game. The prop was intricately modeled for seamless integration with a 5th generation iPod Video, accompanied by an LCD screen that accepts component input directly from the iPod. The keypad area remains unpopulated to facilitate the addition of back-lit keys at a later stage. Strategically positioned holes enable effortless removal of the access panel using small magnets.
