The UNSC Shackleton was an early 24th-century Odyssey-class colony ship engineered for terraforming planets and space exploration, launched in 2362. Her class's primary objective was the expansion of Earth colonies. The Shackleton and her sister ships, including the UNSC Odyssey, were equipped with a range of small point-defense turrets and an initial version of the Mobile Anti-Aircraft Cannon (MAC). Later ship designs would adapt the double boom concept for future warships. This vessel class measured 455 meters in length.
