Unregulated Box Mod (WIP)

WOAH HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? Why are you snooping around here? I've totally moved on to more exciting projects, so don't waste your time checking out something that's basically a relic from the past! If you're looking for something cool, go check out https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2756007 - it's like this one, but even better and actually finished! Wow! Update 5/2/17: I'm probably going to redo the design to make it more 3D printer friendly. This is a work in progress, and I don't expect anyone to print this right now. Heck, I'd almost say don't print this at all since I'm not even close to being done! This upload is only here to show off what I'm working on and get some feedback from you cool folks! My buddies and I used to make box mods in Altoids tins back in freshman year of college. I've been thinking about designing and printing one for a while now, so I finally decided to go ahead and do it. Biggest challenges I'm facing: Battery contacts - I know I can buy battery sleds or even just the contacts themselves, but I wanted to try making them from copper to save some cash potentially. Aluminum foil would work too (I imagine). The battery door starts life as a solid model with no vents, which lets me add whatever design I choose later on. I have many other variations of the door (the one shown is mine), and I'll upload the rest once the project gets closer to completion. The tolerance for door fitment on the device is super tight - I even had to shave material off the door to make it fit, but it's still pretty snug. I might need to rethink and rework the design. Any suggestions are welcome! The box was made with a rounded side to improve ergonomics, but I missed a few key points. The box is really small and kinda awkward to hold because of this - small hands would be a must for using this thing! Another issue is the sharp corners on the other side of the box, which can easily be fixed. The parts used to complete the box are: * Low profile 510 connector (22mm) * Momentary Switch (12mm) * Mosfet (IRLB3034PBF) * 15k Ohm resistor * Wire and shrink wrap tubing * Copper sheets (Brass or aluminum would work fine too) Print Settings Printer: Alunar m506 (anet a6) Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .1 Infill: 20% Notes: 70mm/s Took 4.xx hours The supports are super hard to remove. How I Designed This I designed this by making a model of every part I needed for a vaporizer, then made a shell around it in 123D. Next, I looked for possible problem areas and created three variations - OpenPV_v4 was the point where I said "Looks good! Let's print this thing!"
