Unprocessed American Museum of Natural History Scans
thingiverse
The American Museum of Natural History provided various 123D Catch scans, some with better results than others. Among the set, Amardillo (B) stands out for its detailed tail rendering despite lacking in other areas. BaliSculpture (B+), a sculpture from Bali, is another promising piece needing minimal cleanup and an STL file for further refinement. DeadDeer (B+) showcases a stenomylus hitchcocki skeleton and only requires work on the head and ears for a clear print. The Rat Snake (A) has fully rendered details but needs extraction from its background. In contrast, Deer (F) fails to stitch, while Mammuthus jeffersoni (D) suffers from poor rendering due to noise from visitors. Primitive Turtle (C-) offers intricate detail in some sections but has missing information overall. The Zip file includes OBJ exports with texture for easier access. Each scan provides valuable data, and the right person may find use for them despite varying degrees of print-readiness.
