Unofficial Ultimaker XL
thingiverse
The new design features a larger Ultimaker, similar in size to a Makerbot, with four extruder mounts. This is not an official Ultimaker creation but a design inspired by it. At present, the model has not been cut; proceed with caution. The build requires 1/4" plywood, easily available at US home improvement stores. Most parts are from original Ultimakers, except for longer rods for the x-axis and belts. The design was created using QCAD and Ultimaker drawings. The front Ultipanel mounting holes need fixing, and suggestions for improvements are welcome. Note that the standard Ultimaker can accommodate only two extruder drives due to electronic limitations, but this model allows for expansion to four with compatible electronics. The filament spool holders have been replaced with Makerbot Replicator ones. Thank you.
