Unofficial Fabric Templates for Days For Girls Charity Volunteers

Days for Girls is a fabulous charitable organization whose volunteers create and distribute washable reusable menstrual pads for girls in poor countries who would otherwise miss school during their monthly periods for lack of feminine hygiene products. Members of local volunteer chapters around the world are tasked with cutting and stitching these fabric pads together using paper templates and detailed instructions provided by the DfG organization. Volunteers activities may be impeded however by their sharing a limited number of paper templates, and volunteers may find the official templates insufficiently rigid when marking the fabric. With the aim of helping a greater number of girls, I have written the simple code (attached) enabling a volunteer to 3D-print a set of their own unofficial heavy-duty template shapes, while additionally making the Days For Girls organization known to more potential volunteers in the maker community. Please verify all sizes & shapes since pads must meet dimensional requirements provided by the organization in their official instructional training materials (subject to change). Also remember that the *completed* fabric pad product mentioned herein is patent-protected by DfG. STL files containing 2 parts of a large template may be printed using the "split" function in your Slicer appication (delete one half at a time, then glue the parts together post-printing). Text may be highlighted by switching filament color at the appropriate level. SCAD source code attached for additional customization.
