Who hasn't encountered this issue before: Piles of loose filament samples that are hopelessly tangled up, and you can't possibly have a spool for each sample. Every time you need to switch out a sample, you're forced to unwind the entire spool and then rewind it again - a real headache! This 3D-printable spool is designed to solve this problem once and for all. With its clever design, you can simply unlock the spool and remove the sample without any hassle. The best part? This spool is fully printable in 3D, making it incredibly easy to assemble - no additional screws required! Just snap it together, and you're good to go. Even better, the diameter of this spool is fully adjustable, giving you complete control over your filament management. And if you want to see how it's done, check out our video demonstrating the assembly process: https://youtu.be/UwStidcYbfc We've borrowed a clever snap-fit design from Makesea, which can be found at http://www.makesea.com/mashmar. Here are some tips for handling loose filament: Always rotate the spool when winding or unwinding the filament to prevent any twist. Use a label made of tape at the end of the filament to note down relevant print settings. Keep the start of the filament away from the spool to avoid tangling or over-crossing. Use a cleaning sponge for printing, as loose filament tends to collect dust quickly.
