This rock is made up of numerous fine crystals that cannot be seen with the naked eye or even a hand lens. However, in other samples, these crystals can grow to medium and large sizes - bigger than 2 mm (0.08 inches) and sometimes even larger than 4 mm (0.16 inches). In this specific rock, the mineral creating it leaves behind a powdery texture. The rock feels very smooth or slick to the touch and its texture is extremely soft, as shown by the scratches on it. The mineral responsible for this rock has a Moh's hardness scale value of about 2. This rock displays a dull grey to white color, but other rocks like it can be light shades of tan, blue, brown, yellow, pink, or even reddish-brown, depending on what elements they contain. This rock does not have any fossils inside it. When you taste this rock, you won't notice any salty flavor. If a drop of acid is placed on the surface of this rock, there will be no reaction.
