This photo-derivative 3D point cloud model mapped a plot of land situated just below the University of Portland in Oregon with pinpoint accuracy. Statewide Land Surveying georeferenced this model using multiple surveyed air targets, which enabled them to digitally capture the precise polygons for the offshore docks and wood pilings on site. By utilizing this model, the surveyors were able to bypass the time-consuming task of taking individual shots of each of the hundreds of wood pilings in the water, greatly streamlining their fieldwork.
