This is a 3D printed Michigan Block M Magnet, based off my previous Michigan Block M Thing:1103210. Use it to stick your degree on your fridge, or hang your student loan bills on the side of your stove, or just show your pride in being a Michigan Wolverine! Go Blue! Printed using colors from this PLA multi color sample pack. Magnets are installed with hot glue. Holes fit these magnets. Be sure to check out my other Detroit and Michigan themed magnets! Detroit Tigers Old English D Detroit Lions Detroit Red Wings Logo Great Lakes State of Michigan - HOMES Michigan State University Spartan Smiley Face Magnets US Flag Magnets Printer Brand: RepRap Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 20-30% This design has spaces for two magnets. Magnets that will fit (and that I've used for many projects) can be found here on Amazon. They are plenty strong and come at a good price. The maize and blue PLA I bought from Argos on Amazon. 3mm Maize PLA is here and 3mm Blue PLA is here. I cannot speak highly enough about this stuff, it is a good price, great tolerances (+- 0.01mm) and is made in USA. Check out these filaments if you need 1.75mm filament instead. If you wish to print in maize and blue but only have a single extruder nozzle, you will need to separate your G-code files into multiple individual files. There are many instructions on how to do this online. Basically you can search through your G-code file by control finding the z heights of interest (eg. ctrl-f z5.4) and make each code file have only the z heights needed for each color step, you should also keep the relevant start and end code that sets temperatures, regimes axes, etc. Here are the layer heights that I separated my file by when printing. 0.2 - 5.2 blue - insert magnets 5.4 - 6.2 blue 6.4 - 7.0 yellow 7.2 - 7.6 blue 7.8 - 8.4 yellow 8.6 - 9.0 blue Depending on your printing dimensional tolerances, you may need to add some glue to make them stick. I like JB Weld but I'm sure other glues can work as well.
