Universal Wall Hook System
prusaprinters

A simple, yet effective stick-on universal wall hook system. Requires strong double-sided foam tape for good adhesion to the wall, so no drilling into the wall is required, which is especially handy when you are not allowed to do so.

Useful for mainly light objects (see the picture above for examples), which would otherwise take precious space somewhere else, so there is no reason not to hang them on the wall.

I have designed 2 different bases for different purposes:

wall_hook_1_pole_4_holes.stl (the left one on the main picture): Has one pole and four holes for different clips. Designed to hold everyday light workshop tools (gloves, safety glasses, respirator etc).

wall_hook_2_poles.stl (the right one on the main picture): Has two poles and no holes for clips. Designed to be a simple wire hanger. These poles are a bit shorter, as I didn't need them to be that long.

Do not forget to print the pole ends (wall_hook_pole_end.stl) as well! Just lightly hammer them onto the poles as it is quite a tight fit, made so they will never come off easily.

The clip holes in the bases would be useless without any actual clips, that is why I came up with 2 different designs:

wall_hook_simple_clip.stl: Just a simple, regular clip. Useful for hanging all sorts of things.

wall_hook_clip_keys_and_watch.stl and wall_hook_clip_watch_stop.stl: Specifically designed to hold your keys (with a keychain hook) in the back and your watch (compatible with watches with a 16.5 mm wide hole or larger) on the front. It consists of two parts so that no supports are necessary, they just slide together.

Printed with Prusament PLA Galaxy Black without any supports. PETG is not really necessary, since this system is not really designed to hold heavy objects (for that, it would be necessary to screw the base into the wall, which defeats the whole purpose of this system).

The tape should be applied in the following manner on the back of the base, demonstrated here with the white strips:

I have been daily driving them for over 5 months now and have had no issues with them (except the right one, which did recently fall down, because I accidentally hit it.)

I designed these for my own personal use, but if you want to adjust them to your own liking, I have also provided all of the OpenSCAD source scripts for each model.

Enjoy! :D
