Universal Wall Filament Spool
thingiverse
I wanted a filament spool holder that could easily switch between different brands - I have Flashforge, Prusa, and Reprap ++, all with unique diameters and widths on the spools. This spool holder has a base shaft supported by a 120mm x 8mm rod. It's square, making it easy to add various spool adapters. The body parts (print two of them and assemble them together) should be printed in PETG, but will also work well with PLA. The adapters were printed using leftover low-quality PLA with 5% infill. To build this holder, you'll need two 608zz bearings, some M3 machine screws, square nuts, and hex nuts. Additionally, a 120mm x 8mm rod is required (I designed it around leftovers from MMU2S filament holders, but any 8mm rod will work - just cut it to the right length). When printing the body, place it flat/mid side down; you can then print without support. The filament spool will turn smoothly with minimal friction. A guide has also been added for my MMU2S setup, which might be of interest. Here is a quick and dirty video of the concept: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKXicbnrUh4 Enjoy!
