Universal Steel Reference Tool (Imperial Gauge, Ruler, and Bolt Size)
thingiverse
Working in the steel distribution industry at a service counter with no prior experience can be quite daunting, so I created a reference tool to help tackle this challenge. Let me know if there's anything else I can add to it. The top section is labeled with gauge thickness ranging from 10-18, while the bottom section provides measurements for customers asking about sheet steel thicknesses between 20-30. A hole has been added for every size bolt we sell, making it easy for customers who bring in a bolt without knowing its size to identify and reference the corresponding decimal measurement for quick entry into our computer system. The sizes listed are as follows: 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8, 3/4, 7/8, 1, 1 1/8, 1 1/4, 1 1/2, and 2. A ruler is also conveniently placed on the side for easy reference, a practical addition that's not hard to measure up.
