This is a multi-diameter bushing that fits all five diameters I'm currently using - 31mm, 37mm, 43mm, 49mm and 54mm - as well as an additional size. It allows all of these diameters to fit snugly on a standard 3/4-inch PVC pipe commonly used in the Solidoodle 4 printer. An alternative version features a 23mm opening designed specifically for 22mm dowels. For narrower spools, two inserts can be slipped into one another.
