I love the original but I didn't have a ton of room behind my printer and wanted to print it in smaller parts. So, I made it so the main rod can slide into the mounting piece for easier assembly. This also gives me the ability to switch out spools quickly without having to twist and tilt that piece out of the back of the printer. By the way, the normal infill setting is fine with this design using ABS, it's plenty strong enough. The original design by @nas7 has been modified for improved functionality. This revised Universal FlashForge Creator Pro Spool Holder fits any spool size and diameter, featuring a closing mechanism based on a cone that holds the spool in place using slots. The closing cone piece rotates freely but won't exit the holder until an upward force is exerted. This design has been optimized to work flawlessly with all spool sizes. The spool holder's diameter is 19 mm and length is 110 mm, while the closing cone's larger diameter is 56 mm. All my spools fit within these dimensions, including the new Octave 3DP very small spool hole of 20 mm. This FF Spool Holder was inspired by two creations: Thing 714533 by davedfx and Thing 508896 by CreativeTools. To avoid using metal screws like other designs, I redesigned a holder with slots featuring a larger cone that locks into place due to the weight of the spool but allows it to rotate freely. Please check this revised design and let me know if it works for you. UPDATE: An optional washer has been added for large diameter spools to minimize friction by allowing the internal washer cone to also rotate. This additional part doesn't change the previous design. UPDATE 2: A new second closing cone with a larger end diameter has been added to accommodate spools up to 60 mm in diameter, featuring an external larger end diameter of 67 mm.
