Universal Spool Holder - Old Version
thingiverse
Introducing an upgraded version of this universal spool holder, significantly improved over its predecessor! Check it out here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1001312. A video showing how the old spool holder works can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmDmW-NRSjM&feature=youtu.be. Another similar spool holder designed for Taulman brand filaments is available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:938437. The redesigned spool holder prints in one piece and requires minimal alignment on the platform with a leveled plate. It's best printed with 10% infill and at 0.3mm layer height. To use this spool holder, measure your spool and select the appropriate rods from various sizes available in the thing files. Choose one base arm, one spinner arm, and three equal-length rods. Note that spools with a big hole require a fat rod and two skinny rods, while spools with a small hole need three skinny rods. Modified arms are also available for skinnier rods. Remember to check the file names, which indicate rod length (e.g., BottomRod_27in is 2.7" long).
