Universal Spool Holder (Fast print) + Filament guide
thingiverse
I discovered a simple yet effective solution for a spool holder designed by FedorSosnin that I was able to modify to suit my needs. Since my bearings didn't fit this design, I created a new spool holder that accommodates my 105zz bearings and distributes the weight evenly across four bearings, two per part. A set of ten MR105ZZ (5x10x4mm) bearings can be purchased on Aliexpress for just one euro. The link to the product is available online at https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10pcs-608ZZ-8-22-7mm-3D-printer-Miniature-Radial-Bearings-Free-Shipping/32766209387.html. As a result, the spool rolls much smoother, which leads to better alignment with the extruder. To further improve this alignment, I plan to add an additional filament guide that will utilize the design created by Holspeed. This revised guide will not require any bolts or nuts, only two 3D-printed parts and one 105zz bearing. Supports greater than eighty degrees will be used for the revised filament guide.
