Universal Spool Holder
thingiverse
I needed a spool holder that could accommodate various spool sizes without requiring additional hardware beyond what came with my printer. Here's what I came up with. Designed for the standard 8mm threaded rod supplied with my A6, parabolic caps, and a threaded rod allow for adjustability to fit most spools. The threaded rod is engineered to "lock" into one cap, preventing it from going further than necessary. There are two options for the rod: short stops at the inner threads of the caps on a standard 1kg spool or long extending to the outer perimeter of the caps flush with the face. I recommend choosing the "Long". It has performed exceptionally well and I thought I'd share my creation. Update: I spun the cap off the bolt too quickly, causing it to hit the floor and break part of the hub. So, we have V2 without an outside ring and I like it much more. I've also included a bolt for a 10mm rod. Print Settings: Printer: Anet A6 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.20 Infill: 20% Notes: Print the bolt vertically, and the hub face down.
