<p>Who is this print suited for:</p><p>This is a rather time consuming build, regarding the assembly of the spool holder. Furthermore you will need some patience and skill.<br><br>Benefits of the spool holder:</p><ul><li>It is very robust using 2 M5 threaded rods.</li><li>It can be used for bigger spools, at least 2.6kg (thats why I build it in the first place)</li></ul><p><br>For this project you will need:</p><p>2x: M5x160mm threaded rods</p><p>10x: M5 Hex nut</p><p>2x: small pliers (yes really, assembly is tricky)</p><p>1x: small round file</p><p>8x: Bearings – Di=6mm; Da=19mm – Type I used: 626</p><p>191g of Filament. (I used PLA)</p><p>If you want a small change in dimensions, as you have slightly different bearings, feel free to contact me.</p><p>Instructions:</p><ol><li>Print parts. base 1x; spacer&amp;roller 4x</li><li>increase the inner diameter of spacers so you can fit M5 threaded rod through it (see Picture, use round file)</li><li>screw the nuts in- as seen in the pictures.</li><li>use 2 pliers at once to fixate the nuts so you can turn the threaded rod in easily</li><li>use a small M5 screw / the other rod to allign the second roller</li><li>On one end of the threaded rod use 2 nuts and some force.</li></ol><p>The spacer needs to be printed with 0.2 layer height or less due to the minimal line width. (For 0.4 nozzle)</p><p><br>Filament guide:</p><p>I highly recommend the filament-guide by <a href="https://www.prusaprinters.org/social/2822-clivebradshaw"><strong>clivebradshaw</strong></a> as seen in the picture.<br><br>&nbsp;</p><p>Patch notes:</p><p>Rev.03 Base plate has lower middle supports so very full spools will fit on it as well.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I tested the system with a 2.6kg spool and it works fine.
