I adapted the hub and axle from the Universal Auto-Rewind Spool Holder by VincentGroenhuis. I simply cut off the back plate of the clutch and trimmed the axle to match the shorter setup. The result is the same amount of threaded area as the original, and it continues to work with the original nuts just fine. Due to the shortened axle, this design will not work with Vincent's bases, but other bases that allow for a closer together configuration will be compatible.
