The Essential Soldering Companion ----------------------------- [UPDATE] After working with this essential tool for several months, I find it indispensable. It's so useful and works flawlessly every time! Every time I have to work without it, I feel a strong urge to have it back. [/UPDATE] This is a revolutionary new design of an all-purpose soldering companion. I was dissatisfied with the existing soldering helpers that featured tiny wiggly arms, so I designed something better. Watch its demonstration on YouTube at https://youtu.be/KX1DMfEJ1-0. Both components are filled with small lead shot and weigh enough to secure PCBs and other items firmly in place. The top weighs 300g, while the bottom weighs 420g. They are bonded together using cyanoacrylate glue. The exterior is covered in foam rubber to prevent damage to clamped parts and maintain a tight grip. Templates for cutting the foam are included as XPS files that can be printed on paper or as STLs suitable for 3D printing, which provides better results when cutting around them. The foam is attached using double-sided tape. Pro Tip: If objects are too small, simply grasp them with tweezers and clamp the tweezers in the soldering companion!
