Universal sanding disc applicator/stacker
thingiverse
An applicator that will allow the easy attachment of the velcro style sanding disc to the random orbital sander such that the dust holes align. The parametric OpenSCAD file will allow the selection of the number arms and the diameter of the circle for the alignment cones of the applicator. Enjoy! Update 20210307 Uploaded sanding disc applicator/stacker OpenSCAD script. The parameters are set for a rapid draft print with 0.2mm layer height on the A8 and only 2 layers top and bottom skin in the slicer. If you use more layers top and bottom or a different layer height adjust the skin parameter, which adjusts top layer tickness on top of knob. Recommend that an applicator is printed and one or more stackers, as the depth of the dust holes on the Bosch are limited. The 13mm knob height restriction barely accommodates 5 coarse sanding discs layered face to face. Applicator in the container with the tool and the stackers in the storage container :) Of interest is that the entire design [OpenSCAD AppImage] and slicing [Cura 4.8.0] exercise was done on a Pi4 4GB, Argon One case, CPU clocked at 2.0Ghz. It's amazing what you can do with a Pi! Update 20210309 Uploaded final OpenSCAD version, tweaked some of the comments. Contemplate a shorter stacker element as the applicator and will then serve as a retainer for the top stacker discs. An applicator at the bottom will keep the bottom discs further above the storage surface.
