Universal Robots is a Danish robot manufacturer that designs and manufactures collaborative robots, also known as cobots, for use in various industries such as manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and food processing. The company was founded in 2008 by two engineers, Esben Østergaard and Kristian Kassow, who aimed to create robots that could safely work alongside humans without the need for safety cages or other protective barriers.
