Universal Proximity Sensor Mount

Universal Proximity Sensor Mount

thingiverse

Mounting a proximity sensor anywhere on your X carriage requires a bolt facing up or down. For a proximity sensor, ensure the vertical part can hold the part above where the hot end hits but below the sensor threshold. This may involve some experimentation with adjusting the probe's position by connecting it to voltage and using the red LED at the top. With only one bolt in place, stability is not guaranteed. To secure the setup, consider adding washers under and over the bolt to clamp the probe firmly in place. Although the probe doesn't require excessive force, this method may not be suitable for more demanding applications such as mounting a pen or other heavy accessories. This design was created using OpenSCAD, and the printer depicted is a 5-year-old Printrbot Plus model.
