Universal printer vibration dampener remix

thingiverse

A 3D printer dampener designed for use with a practice PU golf ball (41 mm diameter). This remix is based on http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1992030, featuring 25% faster print times and 33% less material usage. The goal was to create a stronger and more efficient design by reducing the amount of material used and shortening the printing time. On my printer: The original file required 5.88 meters of PLA filament, took 79 minutes to print, and consumed 18 grams of material (17% infill, 0.2 mm layer thickness, no support). However, the remixed file demands only 4.04 meters of PLA filament, reduces printing time to 60 minutes, and uses 12 grams of material (17% infill, 0.2 mm layer thickness, no support). A prototype made from a raw plank demonstrates noticeable noise reduction, allowing for quiet printing even during nighttime hours. References: This design is a remix of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1992030. The practice PU golf ball used in this project can be found by searching "pu practice golf ball" on a web search engine. Print Settings: Printer: DiscoEasy200 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 17% Notes: Infill levels have little impact due to the minimal inner volume. Printing time is approximately 54 minutes, consuming 12 grams of PLA filament at a 0.2 mm resolution. The SCAD file contains no parameters for customization.
