Universal Phone Holder for Ender 3
thingiverse
This is a phone or GoPro holder powered by the elastic force of a rubber band. It's designed to hold a heavy phone/tablet or a lightweight camera securely in place. It attaches to the printer on the left or right side using existing bolts, and can also slide onto 4040 aluminum extrusions with a quick-release mechanism. This allows for easy installation and removal of the camera holder. Unlike other camera holders that mount directly onto the X gantry, this design provides a better viewing angle and reduces added weight to the Z axis. The connectors are designed to replicate GoPro-style hardware, ensuring a secure fit. The "Ender_Mount_4040_Vslot" is a quick-connection system that can be easily removed or snapped back into place by sliding it into the 4040 aluminum extrusions. **Installation** First, tie a slip knot with a rubber band around the peg in the slide. Next, fit the track and slide together, then pull the rubber band through the hole in the slide and hook it around the peg in the track. If needed, create a hook using a paperclip or some filament to help guide the rubber band through. Each rotating connector piece has a cavity for a 10x3mm magnet, which helps keep the mount upright or at a slight angle. A larger magnet or more physical connection would be required for better stability. **Parts** 1 small rubber band for the track/slide The Thumbscrews require these nuts/bolts: M5x45 Hex Bolt - Long M5x35 Hex Bolt - Short M5 Hex nut or M5 Acorn nut *I opted for GoPro-style Thumbscrews, as I couldn't find a cheap source of M5 nuts/bolts. They were 10 for $6.* **Why this is a work in progress** I'm currently working on improving the connection between the Arm and Slide (it simply glues in) and possibly designing my own Thumbscrew. Additionally, I'd like to rebuild the connectors using a standard bolt size, such as 1/4-20". The model is fully functional at this stage. Credit goes to T70E for allowing me to use his GoPro Mount Kit's Thumbscrews.
