"Universal" phone case - Entry ll
grabcad
A "universal" phone case seems too good to be true, but it can actually fit almost every phone thanks to its ingenious design. The case features four springs that extend, moving a slider towards the center and allowing hooks to move freely until they're stopped by the phone edges, providing basic protection. Foam is included to protect the edges while fitting the phone's curves, and the lack of foam between the phone and case keeps it from being too bulky. The case's mechanism was built with 3D printer capabilities in mind, allowing for potential improvements such as full metal versions that would be smaller, more efficient, and fit more models. The basic design remains the same, and the creator is a mechanical engineering student. The case also features side sliders to easily remove the phone without using nails, making it both functional and user-friendly.
