Universal Open Cable Chain

Universal Open Cable Chain

I really loved Elpo's cable chain design, but it had one major flaw - it didn't include end pieces to attach the chain links. I decided to upgrade the size of the chain links from 10mm to 12mm to give my printer a bigger and more impressive look. When attaching the male end piece to the first link, you'll need to carefully cut or break off the hinged section along with two lower posts so that it can snap into place. This is only necessary for the very first link connected to the male end piece. For optimal results, use FT-5 specific Y-axis chain ends - original ones will work fine on the X-axis, but they won't provide the correct alignment for the Y-axis.
