Universal Nest Protect V2 Junction box
thingiverse
This is a universal junction box designed specifically for the Nest Protect V2.\nIt was created to mount a mains powered NP anywhere on the ceiling or wall, providing ample space for cabling and connections to cable ducts.\nThe box features two entry/exit points with strain reliefs that include breakout hole covers, allowing for easy end or feedthrough cabling.\nFour screw holes are provided to ensure secure mounting using the original NP screws.\nTo secure the unit on my ceiling, I opted for carpet sticky tape instead of screws.\nThe following materials were used:\n4 x 3.5 x 20 mm wood screws to mount the mounting bracket\n2 x 3.5 x 16 mm wood screws to secure the strain relief\n1 x 2-pole 1.5-2.5mm2 screw connector\nImportant notes:\nWhen removing the hole covers, a bit more force than anticipated is required; it's recommended to remove them from the inside out.\nDo not fully tighten the mount plate screws, as this will compress the rubber ring and prevent the NP from sliding into place.\nPrint Settings:\nPrinter: K8200/3Drag\nRafts: No\nSupports: No\nResolution: 0.25 mm\nInfill: 15%\nNotes: Three perimeters with a 0.4 mm nozzle were used in the print settings.\nHow I Designed This\nI utilized Freecad v0.16 to design this junction box and relied on Simplify3D for slicing it.
