Universal Microscope and Binoculars Phone Adapter
thingiverse
I redesigned cswaim's "Universal Microscope Phone Adapter" for use with binoculars, which I printed back in 2014. A couple weeks ago, I downloaded Terminal Eleven's SkyView app for my phone and thought it would be great if I could use it while looking through the binocs. Indeed, Terminal Eleven promotes a line of binoculars and telescopes with a built-in mounting bracket for your phone, but I've got fine binoculars, so I decided to try something different. I tried clipping the original design to my binoculars, but the clips were too big to fit between the barrels, and the bushing would have held the phone in portrait orientation. So I made a few tweaks to those three parts. Now it works with several types of binoculars (clipping to the center hinge on larger ones and to the barrel on smaller ones) and still works perfectly with my microscope. I'm hesitant to call it "Universal," but you can definitely use it for stargazing. I've attached the STL files as well as the 3MF files, if you want to experiment with the modifications I made in Microsoft's 3D Builder app.
With this file you will be able to print Universal Microscope and Binoculars Phone Adapter with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Universal Microscope and Binoculars Phone Adapter.
