Universal iPhone Lightning Dock
prusaprinters
Inspired by the original iPhone Lightning Dock by Apple (www.apple.com/de/shop/product/MQHX2ZM/A/iphone-lightning-dock) and the wonderful design of jckray (www.thingiverse.com/thing:1713891) I wanted to design my own iPhone dock. The design of Apple works with the Apple cases but not with cases of for example Spigen and a lot of other cases. The design of jckray was great, but the version wich is ment to fit most cases did not fit 5 different (slim) cases i own. Maybe just bad luck, but I decided to do something about it. As I didn't want to use original Apple Lightning cables (which fits perfectly in jckrays design) I chose Amazon basics Lightning cables (which were to loose in jckrays design). The result is a nice dock with custom text and my logo at the front. You have to use the base plate of jckrays original design. The other stuff is not exactly a remix as I build it from scratch, but it sure is inspired by jckrays design. How to print: Print the STL file, no support needed (I used 65% cubic subdivision infill in cura). Print the base plate (www.thingiverse.com/thing:1713891) Put something heavy in the two big grooves (just to make the dock a bit heavier). I used some lead powder and glued it in with hot glue Attache the amazon basics cable available in black or white (https://www.amazon.de/AmazonBasics-Ladekabel-Lightning-zertifiziert-Apple-Wei%C3%9F/dp/B017YEAR0C/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1517782853&sr=8-4&keywords=amazon%2Bbasics%2Blightning%2Bkabel&th=1) Attache the base plate (for attaching the cable and the base plate is no glue needed, just a little bit of pressure... In the pictures you see two test prints, I had no final thing to photograph as it was a gift and I forgot to take a picture^^. Hope you like the design! Included are two STLs: One blank and one with "Hab dich lieb" writen on it. The text can be easily modified in freecad. Hope you like the design! Thanks Hans Category: Mobile Phone
