Universal Hand Adapter - Book Holder - SPU Engineering

thingiverse

This adapter is used to hold a small sized book open so you may have one free hand for other activities such as writing, eating, etc. while you read. This book holder is intended to hold the book upright with the pages open so you can easily read the book without holding it. This book holder is made up of three parts, the first is the biggest part (the base) that is a rectangle with four pillars, one on each corner, to hold the book open. The second part is a tall rectangle that fits into the base and stands up vertically and is used as a rest for the spine of the book so it also stays in place. The third piece is a hexagonal piece that fits the universal adapter and the base of the book holder together. This was all printed on a Printbot Simple Metal 3D printer with PLA plastic. The base is 3.5"x 2"x 3" (L x W x H). The hexagonal adapter is 1.1"x 0.5" (Diameter x Height). The Vertical back brace is 1.5"x 0.25"x 4" (L x W x H). There are three separate files for each of these pieces, which were all designed using the 2018 version of Solidworks.
