Universal Food Tray (Within Reach Design Competition)

I've spent several days observing everyday activities and realized how often we use our fingers to move plates, cups, and utensils. Without them, it would double the time and make such an easy task feel like a chore. This realization led me to create a "Food Tray" designed specifically for people with arm disabilities. I didn't want to design something that already exists or another robotic arm. I wanted to create something simple and made entirely through 3D printing without any screws or materials. So, I settled on making a universal food tray. Designing a food tray might seem too simple, but all existing trays are designed with finger grips. Some may think it's just for convenience, but for people with limited finger usage, it makes carrying stuff much easier. That's why I created this food tray with a special handle design for everyone, regardless of their finger grip abilities. Here are the key features achieved in my design: 1. Handles cater to people from arm amputation to no disability. 2. Handles are easy to assemble. 3. The tray has a sleek and modern design. 4. It's small enough to fit in most sinks but big enough to hold large items, making washing dishes easier. 5. The tray is easy to clean. 6. It features several slides-in compartments for cups, bowls, plates, and utensils. People often overlook the little things in life, but a simple food tray can make a huge difference for those with arm disabilities. This tray helps them move things around with less trouble, making eating meals, washing dishes, and moving other items around the house easier.
