Simple Presence Sensor for Filament Uses an optical sensor to instantly detect when filament is present in its path. Unlike traditional mechanical spring or endstop systems, this sensor has no moving parts - it's virtually indestructible. This sensor is fully compatible with the MMU2 - filament is securely constrained from start to finish, and a spot for a M10 fitting allows you to lock down a bowden tube in place. The optical sensor is secured using 2 M3 screws - ideally 10mm long, threaded into the plastic base, then clamping onto a mounting bracket with the remaining thread as a stud.
