Universal filament sensor
thingiverse
UPDATE: Hello everyone! I've got my first Kickstarter project up and running. Please check it out and share the link! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kenzoselleslaghs/rgb-touchpanel-for-micro-controller-s Many thanks! --------------EDIT 11/08/2018---------------- A new filament sensor is coming next week, I've made it smaller, less complicated, and easy to print. NEW ONE https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3112319 --------------END OF EDIT------------------- This is a 3D printed filament sensor that warns you of blocked or broken filament. The Arduino waits for a certain time to pass before responding with a continuous beep if the sensor doesn't produce any signal, until the filament moves again. I've configured the Arduino sketch to work with various 3D printers, but you may need to adjust the sensor values depending on your print speed (instructions are included in the Arduino sketch). BOM: - Arduino (Uno, Mega, Mini, etc.) (the sketch is uploaded) - 2x 608 bearings (8mm inner diameter) - 2x 5cm M8 rod - 9x M8 nut - 2x M8 washer - Simple buzzer - Speed sensor Arduino - Double-sided tape (attach it to the guide wheels to prevent slipping rotations) MARLIN firmware users: I'm working on a solution to connect this sensor directly to your printer's motherboard. When triggered, it will pause the print and wait for user interaction. I'll post the extra code when finished; in the meantime, feel free to use this setup!
With this file you will be able to print Universal filament sensor with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Universal filament sensor .
