Universal Easy Access Bait Station for Pest Control (Ant/Roach)
thingiverse
## Design Intention Commercial bait stations, such as those from Raid, are often expensive and inefficient. This design addresses cost and efficiency issues while preserving the merits of an enclosed bait by providing a universal 3D printed bait platform for small household pests. It reduces treatment cost dramatically by allowing the use of gel and other forms of bait in bulk quantities. Its material-saving and compact design makes it easy and fast to print, without any support structure. It improves effectiveness by providing maximum level of bait access; since it is easily producible with a 3D printer, achieving comprehensive coverage is economical. Furthermore, it allows the user to choose an effective bait per their preference and offers a platform for continued experimentation. ## Features Summary - Ultra material-saving and physically compact design - Prints fast and with no support - Maximum level of bait access with high openness and low 30° ramp entry - Whole design is reusable - High security snap-on top lid. Easy and ergonomic assembly/disassembly - 5mm ID/7mm OD application visual ring guide ## Training Video Watch the short video below to learn how to assemble and disassemble the lid properly. ## Printing Directions Despite reduced material use, the design is material-agnostic. Cheap materials like PLA and PETG are perfectly suitable. Also a great starter print for easily warped materials like ASA and ABS. To insure the lid fits well, the recommended layer height is no more than 0.15mm. This design works best if your printer is dimensionally accurate and can reproduce details; if not, scale the lid until it fits well and snugly. If your printer has melt issues, print at least 2 copies at once and leave the fan on high. Do not use any support. ## Design Limitations Designed for use with Gel/Tablet/DIY forms of insecticide. May not work with liquid, powder or other forms. Designed for smaller insects like German cockroaches and ants. It can be used with American roaches since the entryway is 10mm high, but you may need to scale the model if you are expecting even larger ones. This design is meant to be a bait station, not a trap. It will poison insects, but not trap them inside. The visual ring guide is not a bait retainer. Your bait must be tacky in nature, for example peanut butter consistency. Solid baits can be fixed in place with adhesives. Designed with Inventor 20. IPT included.
