Universal dovetail saddle
thingiverse
This is a universal dovetail saddle, boasting three distinct designs. One features a flat bottom, specifically engineered for secure adhesion to flat surfaces via glue. Another design boasts a counter-sunk screw head, accommodating two M4 flat-head bolts with precision. The third option comes equipped with legs, ideal for installation on round tubes or similar devices, complete with counter-sunk M4 holes for effortless mounting. Notably, the set screws on the side are designed to be hand-threaded into 3mm holes, ultimately securing them to an M4 fastener. A deliberate design choice was made here, as this saddle will often serve as a precursor to a dual saddle installation. The robustness of this universal dovetail saddle is evident in its construction, with side walls that significantly outperform any other similar design I've encountered. Moreover, the screw attachment area has been reinforced for added durability, addressing issues previously experienced with flimsy designs prone to snapping. Notably, this design has been successfully printed using PLA material; however, I anticipate that ABS or PETG would yield even more impressive results, and I plan to explore these options once I have access to the necessary materials.
