Universal Device Mount: Bracket
thingiverse
This updated TomTom Start 60 car mount has evolved into a versatile universal device holder with customizable components. It accommodates devices ranging from small (e.g., Xperia Active) to large in size (like the TomTom itself). The design includes attachments that connect to standard car mount plates, which can be purchased for a few dollars and provide strong suction mounts. Alternatively, you can use your own mount with an M6 screw hole. Both bar types are compatible and utilize the same brackets. To create this personalized mount, first measure the height of your device at the desired bracket placement location, including a bit of tolerance. Also, measure the depth from the center of the device to its front, ensuring it's slightly less than your actual measurement for a snug fit, as the brackets are springy and provide a firm grip. Next, determine the width needed for the connecting bar by measuring between the two brackets, outside to outside. This will be the device's width. Finally, select the connector option - either the standard connector plate or an M6 screw hole - and proceed to manufacture your customized car mount.
