I was heating up a half can of Chef Boyardee for my 2-year-old and saving the rest by wrapping it in aluminum foil to keep in the fridge when a brilliant idea struck me - a reusable lid. I distinctly recalled seeing similar products in stores before, which inspired this fun project to design and print. To my delight, the custom lid fits perfectly on most of the cans in my cabinets, except for a few unusually shaped ones. It's been an entertaining process experimenting with different can sizes to get a good fit. Printed on a Robo3D R1 using NinjaFlex filament, these reusable lids are a game-changer for anyone who values convenience and eco-friendliness. My setup involved the following settings: - Extruder temperature: 225 degrees - Bed temperature: 50 degrees - Printing speed: 20mm/s (maximum) - Quality setting: Medium (Matter Control) - No supports needed due to carefully designed edges, which reduce the necessity for additional support material. One note of caution - NinjaFlex instructions warn against submerging the filament in water as it can lose its flexibility. Hand washing with immediate drying may not have the same severe impact, but further research is necessary to confirm this theory.
