Universal Art Frame
thingiverse
This DIY framing method offers numerous benefits, such as minimal weight, cost-effectiveness, an unobtrusive appearance, high strength, ease of hanging and straightening, and protection against wall scratches. To create this frame, sandwich your artwork between a backing (like particle board) and a piece of glass. Custom cut the backing and glass for free at your hardware store. Other suitable backing materials include foam board or corrugated cardboard. Smooth the glass edges with sandpaper before assembling the frame. Print four custom corner pieces and attach them to the sandwich using thin, strong cord (1.5mm in diameter, 100lb capacity). Tie the corners together with a knot at the top, leaving ample slack for hanging. Adjust the hanging angle by sliding the cord through the corners if needed. Finally, hang your framed artwork on a wall nail, ensuring the glass is seated firmly in the corner pieces and protected from wall scratches.
