United States Marine Corps Desk Plaque

This is a desk name plaque I created for friends at work. The EGAs on the sides and rank insignia in the middle are all removable to pack it up neat. Pieces can be easily interchanged too. I'm uploading the ranks that I compiled from another design I made. A big thank you goes out to MrJohn's Thingiverse project number 16439, which I drew inspiration from when I first started learning CAD and modified heavily for optimal printability. I also expanded his collection to include all Sergeant to Sergeant Major ranks. Instructions: To get the name curved onto the base using Sketchup, I used Chris Fullmer's Shape Bender plugin. http://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/clf-shape-bender Go ahead, go download it now - you know you want to! For the gold highlight, I originally considered gold leafing the letters. However, I discovered a liquid gold leaf paint that looks just as great but takes way less effort.
