In 2012, the year of the London Olympics and Queen's Diamond Jubilee, a multicolored Union Jack print was attempted on a RepRapPro Huxley with single extruder. Inspired by RichRap's British Prusa Mendel, this object could be scaled as desired and attached to other items. The design involved three parts: a white base, blue layer on top, and red layer on top of the blue, representing the Union Jack's colors - St. Andrew's cross (white diagonal cross on a blue background), St. Patrick's cross (red diagonal cross on a white background), and St. George's cross (vertical red cross on a white background). However, dad pointed out an error in the red St. Patrick cross design. To print, first use white plastic for the WHITE.STL file, creating a 0.6mm tall slab. Then, slice BLUE.STL using blue plastic with Z-offset at 0.9mm to place blue triangles on top of the white base and lay down crosses. Finally, RED.STL uses red plastic with Z-offset to overlay St. Patrick and St. George crosses on top of the blue layer. A single STL file (RedWhiteBlue.STL) can be printed, but it requires changing filament at designated heights. For G-Code tweaks, consult Scropp's blog.
