If you have any of these software applications, extracting textures is a breeze: With Sketchup (free), just export your image as your preferred 2D file using File > Export > 2D Graphic – drop down option. Alternatively, go to File -> Export -> 3D Model. Export the model as a COLLADA file (*dae) file. Check the Options box and make sure that Export Texture Maps is enabled. Then, go to the exported file location in the directory. You should find a folder with the same name as the exported file containing all the textures. In Cinema 4D (a trial version will suffice), importing the .skp file automatically generates a folder with textures next to the original .skp file. When importing a .skp file into 3ds Max, texture files are stored in the ..\3dsMax\scene\assets\images directory. You can also export an FBX file with Embed Media option selected (in the Export dialog window), which will automatically create a folder containing all textures along with the FBX file. With Rhinoceros 3D (trial version okay), import .skp file to Rhinoceros 3D. Open Material Editor in the Panels->Material Editor. Select any material that has a texture applied.
