This file contains unified steel kep/external tooth locknuts from McMaster-Carr. A single SolidWorks part includes the configurations listed below, making it easy to drag and drop during assembly. It can be added as a library part, and edits can be made through the design table, equation manager or custom properties. Custom properties are derived from internal usage on BOMs and can be modified for your use; "MP" numbers are internal part numbers for sourcing. The design table should be checked first for any edits. Step files are also included. McMaster-Carr descriptions state that these locknuts, also known as Keps and K-Lock nuts, have a free-spinning tooth lock washer that grips material surfaces without threads for easy installation and mild vibration resistance. The height includes the thickness of the washer, and zinc plating provides corrosion resistance in wet environments. The locknuts are available in steel with external-tooth lock washers and various thread sizes and widths, all of which are zinc-plated for added durability.
