UniFi UVC G3 Flex Rain Hood

UniFi UVC G3 Flex Rain Hood

I mounted my Ubiquiti UniFi UVC G3 Flex camera outside on a pole, where it's been exposed to the elements. Raindrops consistently landed on the lens and obscured the view, making it difficult to capture clear images. I decided to take action and designed a rain hood that would protect my camera from the rain. I printed this design on its back without supports, which presented some challenges. The steep overhang caused some issues at the start of the print, resulting in a slightly rough finish. However, the print still came out acceptably and looked great after a light sanding to smooth out any imperfections. To ensure durability, I chose PETG for the final print, as it offers more UV resistance than PLA. To secure the hood in place, you'll need to apply a small amount of caulk or silicone to the top of the camera underneath the hood. This will prevent the hood from being blown off by strong winds. The black camera shown in the picture has been spray painted for added protection and a sleeker appearance.
